988, the suicide hotline
988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This dialing code was available to everyone across the United States as July 16, 2022. I have called their previous number several times and gotten sympathetic help and hung in there until I was ready to think a little bit differently, and I hope you and I both will have minds that escape those thoughts/moods tonight.
